XtraVision: First Online Entertainment Provider Offering AOTP Service in the Gaming Industry

 Taipei, Taiwan -- 2012.05.22

XtraVision Interactive Entertainment is the first in the gaming industry in Taiwan to offer AOTP authentication service to the public. AOTP allows users with a press of a button to send out a signal and activate online accounts for automatic personal information verification by an AOTP certified security center, replacing passive, back-and-forth text messaging verification.

AOTP is a Mobile PKI Cloud Access Authentication System, a unique authentication service based on SMS / USSD active message sent over a 2G / 3G mobile network. Because mobile networks in Taiwan have extended area coverage and strong signal strength, AOTP is used to replace the first step in any online authentication protocol, such as username and password authentication.

“2udg’s alliance with XtraVision can help resolve current Taiwanese online game industry’s problem of handling sensitive customer data and transaction security issues.” said Weleys Chen, COO of XtraVision.

Traditional online game industry provides a wide selection of gamer account verification services, such as Token authentication, SMS OTP service, software certification, etc. in order to prevent ill-intentioned parties from stealing and selling sensitive user data for a high price to third party buyers.

However, in the process of offering end users the best and most secured certification service, often game companies would need to absorb the high hardware and software costs based on the number of games in operation, the product life cycle, revenue output and a variety of other factors, making it not worthwhile to put up a proper authentication service themselves.

The AOTP service bypasses these difficulties by its simple operation protocol. AOTP’s utilization of cloud computing only requires businesses to activate a one-time API connection and afterwards, with a low monthly fee, businesses can enjoy a continuous and secure online transaction monitoring service from the AOTP certified security centers.

Chen added, “The importation of AOTP service to the gaming industry can result in an immediate ROI. Traditional software certification service providers require businesses to purchase, install intrusive programs, log into the games and then test out the service connections before gamers can carry out any online transactions. AOTP, on the other hand, doesn’t need installation or purchase of certification registration numbers, etc., saving businesses tons of time.”

Starting in 2012, 2udg ING has established a strategic alliance with Acer, Systex, Asia Pacific Telecom, EVERY8D and XtraVision. This alliance is aptly called the "AOTP CASIIDA Cloud Security and Network Intrusion Detection Alliance”, keeping user costs to the lowest while fulfilling the Personal Data Protection Act of Taiwan and offering a level of technology most fitting for the best online transaction experience.
